I think it’s great that they’re in a position to think outside the box on their own. As Jonny said… “No one knows how to release music any more, including us. How to put it together, in what format, how long. We’re in the dark as much as anyone I think.”

By “no one” I think he’s referring to the music industry/record labels. Which means the other bands aren’t really in control of what happens, unlike Radiohead. If they come up with a good idea, there’s no doubt that the rest will follow.

I might be dreaming but this is just what comes to mind.

First than everything I love the song..
Second.. mm.. if they never release an album again .. will be really cool.. cause it’s great to constantly have new music.. but on the other hand .. it would be sad to do not see another full album of them .. cause as OLewis said .. an Radiohead album is a work of art..

Maybe they’re being devious- maybe they want a “will they/won’t they?” buzz about the EP to excite more people. I’d be sad if Radiohead NEVER released another album, but I don’t mind just hearing a few EPS for the next few years. A Radiohead album is a work of peerless art, but the EPs are also interesting and fulfilling.

If the band are about to release a surprise EP, why are they giving interviews before it’s released? Maybe there is no EP.

I’m content with the death of “the album”, I’d much prefer songs in an organized group being released rapidly, rather than waiting four years for an album I might not even enjoy. Regardless of what the future holds, I’m just gracious they’re still recording music.
