Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses

Stanley wrote us today about the artwork for “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses” (or “feelingpulledapartbyhorses” as he and Thom write it). He says there is some vagueness and lack of information about the sleeve for the album, and for good reason:

“its all black ink. no colour. the outer sleeve is lasercut into the design of woodcut lines. the inner sleeve is a design made with spraypaint. when you pull the sleeve out a tiny wonder occurs. it doesnt translate well to digital form. youll need a record player to get the most out of the release.”

We can’t wait to see what the “tiny wonder” is. You can pre-order the 12 inch vinyl and see how cool this will be for yourself by heading to the w.a.s.t.e. shop.

Maybe something like Marcel Duchamp’s rotoreliefs from 1935? They were also meant to rotate on a recordplayer. can be seen on youtube

Tried to order it today and got this message:
‘There were not enough items in stock to fulfil your request’

:-(

i’m wondering if it’s like the sleeve for AIR’s Premier Symptômes…there were holes in the cover forming the letters of the band’s name, and the inner jacket had polka dots, so that when you remove it from the outer sleeve a cool effect is achieved. Obviously there are no holes or polka dots, but i’m thinking there might be lines and ripples…?

It works out to be 19$ (Aus). that it quite a bit for 2 songs and a very nice look paper sleeve…mmm…

If anyone is still looking for this (as they appear to have sold out at the waste store), http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/ has it for sale.

At first glance you’d think Unknown Pleasures.

I don’t know what Stanley’s talking about. I received my 12″ today and it’s a standard card sleeve with a nicely cut front cover and an inner card sleeve which contains the vinyl.

I can only assume the ‘tiny wonder’ he’s referring to is the music. Which, to these ears, are two pieces of profoundly ordinary laptop excursions. Sorry Thom, but these sounded exactly how you’d expect.

Y I got mine today and the ‘tiny wonder’ was very anti-climactic. i love the songs..but they probly shouldnt hyped up the released like that. still tho…u cant complain on a day when u hear two new RH songs…sry nvm..TY* songs haha

The artwork looks pretty much like Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures.

Dunno if anyone posted about this, but the “tiny wonder” must be when you are pulling the inner sleeve out. The slices in the outer sleeve reveal a kind of optical illusion.
