Atoms for Peace

Atoms for Peace/Thom Yorke at Coachella

Thom Yorke and Atoms for Peace wrapped up their tour last night with a performance at Coachella. Drawing a huge crowd, the band played an energetic set on par with what they have been playing all tour. Rumors were blowing up on Twitter before the show that Radiohead may show up on stage but that proved to be false. We have reports that the other members of Radiohead were at the festival, but only to enjoy it as fans.

Setlist:

01 The Eraser
02 Analyse
03 The Clock
04 Black Swan
05 Skip Divided
06 Atoms for Peace
07 And it Rained All Night
08 Harrowdown Hill
09 Cymbal Rush

ENCORE:

10 Give up the Ghost
11 Airbag
12 Everything in its Right Place
13 Paperbag Writer
14 Judge, Jury & Executioner
15 The Hollow Earth
16 Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses

What happens now? It was a fun tour and hope that it isn’t too long before something else happens in the Radioheadverse.

  • Hey!
Just wanted to give you a heads up that I was at the barrier last night and have videos of the first 13 songs if you want to check them out. They’ll be up on my youtube channel by the end of today. The show was AMAZING and Thom really played with the crowd. Can’t believe it’s over.

AMAZING. kate hudson, Jay z and beyonce were also watching and singin along.

the show last night at coachella was AMAZING!!! i was in the front and i must say that Thom Yorke is out of this world! the whole band did so well…..i literally got teary-eyed. it was all sooo surreal! Thom had our full attention and he vibed with the crowd. Once in a lifetime experience. jay-z and beyonce were enjoying the show as well. I <3 thom!

  • yeah

show was awesome. waited the whole day and got to be in front for it. it was at the outdoor theatre instead of the main stage which worked out better since the stage was smaller and more up close. thom definately did a lot more interacting with the crowd than i’ve seen him do with radiohead before. him and flea, love the way they dance. they dance like they actually want to dance. oh and i love how no other bands on the outdoor stages played during his set, so all the songs he did solo on acoustic didn’t suffer from overbleed of other bands (which happens a lot for quieter songs). the man deserves some RESPECT!

Waited all day for this set, and got right up front. The band was great but Thom and Flea’s dancing was my favorite. Thoms solo interlude was intimate and heartfelt. The Hollow Earth and Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses were indeed the highlight of the set for me. The crowd got really into it and it was a great little freak out session. By far the best performance of the festival.

    @Eszter

its the end of today . . . what is your youtube channel ???? pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Narek

I was a couple rows back for this and absolutely LOVED it. I enjoyed the show a lot more after they got out of the eraser songs, even though i loved those too

  • Oh, sorry! Youtube channel this way: http://www.youtube.com/eszterzimanyi

It was an amazing show, I was a few rows back and Thom and Flea’s dancing really spiced things up. The “mad shit” they played at the end (Feeling Pulled Apart By horses and the hollow earth) was amazing. Much better live than on the recorded version. And that little jam they did for the end of the song The Eraser had to be a highlight as well.

  • Adam

Haha I like his little peace sticker on his guitar. Atoms for peace, afterall. I guess that makes me an Adam for Peace.

  • I was about 30-40 rows back for the show (close enough to discern Thom’s stubble?). It was absolutely amazing. I’ve been to two RH shows but this by far was the best concert experience I’d ever been too. When Thom started playing the first riffs of airbag and then everything in it’s right place, i literally started tearing up. It was such an emotional experience seeing those songs stripped down–so beautiful.

  • Ramon

the performance was GREAT!.. i actually proposed during the middle of atoms for peace… oh yeah!

  • barnhouse

    i think i shit myself.

  • Sod more radiohead stuff for now, how about Atoms for Peace do some shows in England so I can actually see them. I’ve seen Radiohead live quite recently but I want to see songs from The Eraser performed by this band.

  • Shipona

    Tomi Orki cul !!!

  • Ron Barth, Jr.

    @ jon:

Where were the celebs for AfP? I saw them take off from the security area after Phoenix. I did see Rosanna Arquette (during AfP) in the space formerly occupied by Beyonce, though.

  • Jose Dan

Thom, Bonnaroo? Just say the word, and I will make the pilgrimage.

  • Nicole Kyle

That was an amazing show. I will remember it always. You can imagine how excited I was when I discovered that Atoms for Peace were to play in the region where I live!! It took ages to get them out for the last encore.

  • Made all the crazy lines, heat, and frustration of Coachella worth it all by itself. Was on the far right side of the stage where there was still lots of space and kept moving back and forth from where my friends were sitting near the bleachers, and up as close as i could get on extreme stage right.
Would run over to my friends and dance around and scream this is amazing! Then would head back up to the front to stare in awe. Tears all streaming down my face when Airbag came out. Such a great song. Thom Yorke is a truly world class performer and artist. Play every show like its the last. Seeing him up there with Flea was a rare and wonderful treat. Been to hundreds of shows, and maybe 15 festivals. This was a top 5 show for me. Bravo.
