OK Computer Named Best Album of the Past 25 Years

by Jonathan on December 22, 2010

OK Computer

Q Magazine readers recently voted Radiohead’s OK Computer as the best album of the past 25 years. No big surprise there, right? The band also took three other places in the top 30 – compiled to mark 25 years of the magazine – with The Bends at eight, Kid A at 18 and In Rainbows at 23. 13 years ago, Q Magazine had a similar poll where OK Computer was also named best album of all time. Now that is staying power.

Full list after the jump.

(thanks to Peter)

Well deserved spot for Neutral Milk Hotel…

Meh. It’s missing Pixies, Pearl Jam, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Weezer… quite a lot, actually. And they seriously called Green Day “Green Bay”? Loooooool.

  • …..

I agree with OK Computer being number one, but Oasis with numbers 3 and 4 is a joke and Hot Fuss above In Rainbows and Kid A is just frankly, embarrassing. It doesn’t come anywhere close to either, so this list loses all credibility IMO.

    Nirvana sucks still huge ass.
Soundgarden and Alice in Chains were much better than them.

    Guns n Roses fucking sucks

  • Johnston89

While awesome, OK Computer isn’t even the best Radiohead album of the past 25 years.

Never heard of or read Q-Magazine but their readers might want to look into a band called Tool, specifically for the work they did on Lateralus and Aenima.

  • That’s because UK rules man and it is a UK magazine… 😛

  • Dude you can’t be that much of a fan to say negative crap about Radiohead… Those albums so deserve to be there, your just jealous that’s all.

  • actually there is 250 albums on the full list man 😛

  • There is 250 albums in the list and voted by the people man, you can’t argue with the people :))

  • anonymous

green day!! lol but i must say.. green day green bay, same shiet.

He is just not a fan boy of Radiohead like you. Liking or even Loving Radiohead doesnt mean having only ears to Radiohead. There are a lot of other great bands in the world. And yes, the list is laughable when the list is dominated by rock and still cant see a Beatles and a Queen album in there.

  • Sam

    Nope, The Bends is 😀

  • Alternate Title:
    Everything In It’s Wrong Place

  • I agree with Queen, but the Beatles weren’t around in the last 25 years though mate If they were The White Album would be number 1XD

  • there is no way i can agree with that list.  where’s and justice for all?  where’s mellon collie & the infinite sadness?

  •  in rainbows and kid a are difficult for me to compare, in order to pick the “best” from the two.  in rainbows killed me, but then kid a revived me … interesting that i heard the two albums in that order.

  • im sooooo glad demon days is on here

  • Josh Miles

Q Magazine readers confirmed as retards. The Killers? Muse? Green Day? Coldplay? Kings of Leon? Really?

Black holes and revelations better than Absolution and Origin of Symmetry shows that this list is rubbish !

  • Andrew

    lmao no tool

  • Daniel Asimov

“Automatic for the people” deserves a better position
