Radiohead just wrapped up their first of two sold out shows at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom. They played a total of 20 songs mainly from In Rainbows and The King of Limbs, though there were a few older songs like “Street Spirit (Fade Out),” “The National Anthem,” “Myxomatosis,” and the rare “Subterranean Homesick Alien.”

Thom paid tribute to R.E.M. by singing a few lines of “The One I Love” right before going in to “Everything in its Right Place.”

So does this mean that they might play ‘Creep’ tomorrow? Who cares. What an epic foreshadow to an epic tour.

scored a +1 entry on line at the last minute and made it in – they were great as usual! the audience needs to loosen up a bit and learn to dance though…

“The One I Love” was great, but not a full version, just a few vocalized Thom lines before EIIRP. Loved all of it, but my favorite moments were Reckoner and National Anthem, which I’d been pumped for since Colbert

Only real drawback is Roseland isn’t the best venue.  It is crowded and has challenging site lines on the floor.  That said, the sound was solid and the band seemed genuinely happy to be there.  Tomorrow night should rock.

They sounded fantastic.  Mostly new songs, about 12 from the past two albums.  I prefer In Rainbows.  Great show as always, however 20 songs is a lot for some bands, but for Radiohead its less than they usually play.

Oh and my personal Favorite was Weird Fishes.

awesome show! The band was just that right mix of professional tightness with some false starts and human missteps that made you remember why you love them so much. Thom’s voice was spot on, and all of them seemed to really be happy to be back playing live. Not surprised at all about the length of songs at the Roseland venue. It’s not the full tour. While GA made it difficult to see the stage, it didn’t matter. The music was great, the setting intimate, and the night perfect.

So I made it in to Roseland ballroom after stressing that they wouldn’t let me in because of the stupid will call thing. This was my 8th time seeing radiohead and they definitely didn’t disappoint, but I thought the setlist could have used a little more variety. Also, the 2nd encore was lame. Streetspirit was soooo good and nude was too, but how could they end the show with nude? What happened to separator? Could have done without feral and myxamatosis…really wish they played a few more songs from HTTT and ok comp and a few less from in rainbows. Like I said, its impossible to leave these shows disappointed and after 8 times im still very satisfied. I feel like these 2 shows are a nice precursor for next years tour. Wish I had tix for Thursday….oh, and they need a new light set up. Overall, radiohead remains the greatest live band I have ever seen and probably will ever see and hats off to them for continuing to put out great music and perform like the champs they are. Cheers!

I wish Thom would address the crowd before the concert “Raise your hand if you sold your other ticket for greed”?Shame on those spineless bastards!

  • jose

they (RH) said the will never play creep in US ever, they only played Creep in their last Latin Tour…in which i saw them in Mexico & Chile…in Chile RH played Creep back to back nights…now that’s is what you call HEAVEN

  • jose midtown

when did they say that? saw them do it at MSG in 2003…by the way, there seems to be another ‘jose’ on this thread, so i guess i need to add a clarifier…

  • aman

What time did they go on? Was there an opener? I am going tonight and want to know some of those details.

  • Meeyuzik

i was right behind the guy who was taping this… weird …….RADIOHEAD were awesome, one moment of thom yorke being human during reckoner, he fucked up the song, band stopped playing and started again, but who cares, we still love them.

hey man, i think i’m in a similar situation to what yours was with will, (sister used her card instead of calling and asking for mine, and accidentally became… the one who needs to be there), how was your situation resolved? how’d it go? i definitely have been relating today to the stress it seems you experienced yesterday

When I read about Nude being the closer, I wasn’t sure what to think. But seeing the video, they really nailed it – a truly lovely way to end the show.
