Another
of my favorites. This song seems to be about a friend who gets frustrated
with life and kills himself. I think most of the song is Thom pleading
with his friend not to kill himself (Don't do it, don't jump) but
in the end he does. When he does, Thom repeats, I don't want to
talk about it....I don't want to talk about Lewis. Thom describes
how his friend wasn't noticed (We never noticed, we never understood)
or how his friend was abused (he just get crushed to fit).
Thom
does say tell how he just doens't notice the good around him (never
even smelt out the best day of your life). My favorite line in the
song is, the smell of fear is thicker then you think. This could
mean a lot of things. To me it means how the world is a lot scary
for some people then others realize.
