Well, all I can say is bloody fantastic. This has to be up there with the best gigs I've been to.

The band were on excellent form, all the old songs sounded great. 'Bones' was its wonderful stomping self, 'Street Spirit', 'Exit Music' and 'Fake Plastic Trees' all still sounded as good as they ever do. Thom did a neat trick on 'Climbing Up the Walls' by singing into his acoustic guitar to create the distorted vocal effect at the end of the song and 'Bulletproof' was an excellent song to finish an excellent set.

All the new songs fitted perfectly into the set. Having heard the MP3's I new them a bit already and they sound so much better than those bass heavy, muddy recordings. They all seem to be really enjoying playing these songs. I've never seen Colin move about so much( maybe Phil's thighs aren't quite as shapely as they used to be), he was especially into 'Everyone (The National Anthem)' and that song is growing on me so much now. 'Everything In It's Right Place' grooved on for ages as Thom milked the crowd and he seemed to enjoy himself throughout the gig.

The best moments for me though had to be 'How to Disappear' and 'Egyptian Song'. Both sounded so beautiful and they had a great mirror ball lighting effect out on 'Egyptian Song'.

I could go on forever about how good this gig was. Perfect sorroundings, no sign of the crowd problems that Ken talked about from the previous nights gig (although getting in was still slightly archaic) and everyone enjoying themselves to the full. I now only have 3 months before I can hear this stuff properly. It's going to be a long wait.
