It was about 8.00 when we reached Lecabetus Theatre in the highest hill of Athens. About 1.000 people were waiting in front of the stage in the hope of watching Radiohead from a small distance, about 2 hours before the concert. Clinic, the support group started playing at about 8.50 and finished at 9.30. It was the third time playing in front of Greek audience ( including the 25th and 26th of June gig ) and they were cool. Their sound was very familiar but I can say that something was missing. At about > 10 o'clock and after 1/2 hour waiting Radiohead got on the stage. After a > simple Thom's "Good evening" they started playing "Optimistic". After "Bones" it was time for "Karma Police". Thom said that it was "for the people on the rock" (they didn't pay for the ticket). They continued playing new and old songs like : "Nice Dream", "My Iron Lung", "No Surprises"(with Jonny playing the xilophone), "Fake Plastic Trees" (great performance),"Airbag", "Just" & new: "National Anthem", "Kid A", "Dollars and Cents", "Everything in its Right Place". I have to say that I found "Everything in its Right Place" very inspired , with Jonny sampling Thom's voice while Thom was dancing like mad all over the stage till the end of the song. The only negative element was the "murder" of "Exit Music" because some idiot insisted on yelling while Thom was trying to concentrate.

So after playing about 16 songs they left for a while and returned for the first Encore. They started with "Lucky" and continued with "Street Spirit[Fade Out]" and the epic "Paranoid Android". Meanwhile the crowd was asking for "Creep" but Thom said "That's out of discussion!!!". I found Thom's motion very characteristic, especially in " Paranoid Android ". He looks from time to time like "a human cobra ready to attack to the microphone".

After a small break they returned playing " How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found" ending like this the third and last concert in Greece. The concert was excellent. Radiohead seemed very excited and happy for their first gigs in Greece. It is sure that with concerts like they prove which is the best band in Europe right now!!!
