my worst festival experience ever. the line up was horrible i was crushed to death by japanese kids moshing to the strokes who came on before radiohead but.....when radiohead came on it was magic the set list was incredible for the sheer fact that the finished with creep! i could say more but with that alone nuff` said....

This is the third time I have seen Radiohead live, and the second time up close. Yes ! This was the best 'cos Thom was just so in to it. You could just tell that he was really enjoying himself. I guess it was only after this gig that I kind of thought how many songs they now have to choose from. Are they gonna rock (2+2=5 / Just) or are we gonna be encouraged to dance (National Anthem / Idioteque) or are we gonna get to have a rest from the heat with slower number (exit music). But, hey, after one hell of a gig in which Jonny got a live telling off for having his guitar out of tune, Thom announcing that he loved us and that we could all buy him a drink in the bar after the show, we were treated to what must have been an improptu set addition. Thom whispered something to the others, befere announcing that he really really really loved this song.
It took me what seemed like an eternity to recognize the opening bars to CREEP ! Yes, the song I heard that they never never play ! A great way to end a great gig ... and then the fireworks went up !!
What more can I say !!

summersonic day 2: Chiba, Japan
My plan of arriving early and catching the stereophonics and the strokes before radiohead worked out well, as did everything else this weekend. The sun had just set when they took the stage and began with an awesome there there. The band was in great form, and thom was especially genki. In between songs he offered the crowd such pleasing phrases as atsui desu ne in reference to the godaweful heat, domo, and a load of domo arigatos. The set was long enough to hold me over until next time- an hour and 40 minutes, 20 songs total (3 more than Osaka got). Sadly, no where I end and you begin, or "lucky" but we got our fair share. yes, they played creep. But only after thom assured the crowd that he wasn't simply appeasing the loyal japanese fanbase by saying I actually really like this song. Amazing. Thanks. Other highlights were just, go to sleep, and a punch-up, which thom stopped midway through in order to have johnny retune his guitar. stop. (hand raised) stop. your guitar is way outta tune. Johnny hopped over to the piano to see what thom was going on about. A funny moment of humanism. Not androids tonight. As the set drew to a close thom walked down the left side of the stage, thanking and waving to the lucky bastards up front. he then crouched in a funny manner and ran down the opposite side and did the same. Moments after the band exited our view for what would be the last time the sky above exploded with fireworks, providing a chance for the thousands on hand to give one more lasting cheer. and then the lights came on and I (along with the rest of the crowd) realized that we were once again standing in a crappy japanese league baseball stadium.

This was by far an event I looked foward to seeing while being in Japan. Most of all I was looking forward to seeing POlyphonic Spree, Interpol, The Strokes and of course Radiohead. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the first day of the festival which included Hot hot heat, Blur and Travis.

The day was very tiring and the Strokes which came on right before Radiohead sucked alllll my energy out and we ended up sitting on the top level to watch Radiohead. Even from up high, it was phenomenal. It was my second time seeing them and it was amzing this time. I was ecstatic to be able to hear Creep. Not my fave song of theirs, but still... Creep!

Exit music was enchanting and hyptnotizingly great.

I was disappointed there was no second encore :P, but surprised by the fireworks display. Radiohead - Creep = fireworks.... superb end to a superb day.

What can i say, i went to that festival to see three of my favorite groups INTERPOL, THE STROKES and of course RADIOHEAD! This was my first time a saw radiohead and i can say that this was one of my best time in my life, they are great!! My favorite part in the concert was at the beginning when they played 2+2=5, i was listening that song for about 2 months, i really like it! another song that was gorgeous was Idioteque. And the final moment i won't forget when they played CREEP, i could see all the people excited for that song i didn't know at that time that the group haven't played this song for so long, so the people that we went there we had a present!! I want to see them again, but is difficult that them come to my country, we are waiting for them, so welcome to MEXICO!!!!
