Radiohead has some pretty awesome album closers. But, they also have some pretty damn good almost-album closers. Aside from slip-ups in their early days (Lurgee... Sulk?), these second-to-last tracks are among my favorites on their albums.

So of these tracks, which one kicks the most ass?

Edit: only Sulk sucks. Lurgee is pretty decent. And Sulk isn't even so bad, I guess.

Lucky.. hands down..
is perfect together with The Tourist

although, GUTG is closer with Separator... excellent tracks together

True. I assumed best openers and closers had already been done to death, and thought maybe this one had merely been done. It sorta started when I was thinking GUTG should have closed TKOL, then saw another thread where someone said Lucky would have been a great closer to OKC. Same can't be said for the others, but Radiohead do seem to put some strong entries into the second-to-last spot from OKC onwards.

The toughness of the choice, for me, stemmed from GUTG, LSP, and Morning Bell--and I figured Lucky and Jigsaw would be popular enough to warrant the poll.

yeah I think you're right about opening/closing song polls. if the one you made has ever been done, I don't remember it.

be interesting to see if Lurgee gets any votes, I like that song, obv not as much as the other ones in the poll, but it's still good.

I first heard Scatterbrain as a solo track, from HTTT I just had There There, Scatterbrain and Go to sleep.. and Sb was a sweet song, really pretty in sound, I think if I would heard it in the entire album, I think I wouldnt like it at all..

Shit, tough choice. It's a tie between Lucky and LSP. And then I saw other options and remembered MB and Jigsaw, which are brilliant as well. LSP is innovative and touching and certainly one of the highlights of the album. Then again, Lucky has a more powerful emotional impact for me and it was the penultimate song for my first gig, so the crown goes to Lucky.

I voted LSP by accident when somehow I skipped over Lucky. They're both excellent though. Lurgee, Morning Bell, and Jigsaw make up the next tier down.

I'm a little surprised with how well Lucky is doing. It's a great song, but I thought the pervading opinion was that it was overrated. It definitely deserves its votes, though. Lurgee and Sulk are performing exactly as expected.

I voted GUTG because, as of right now, that song does the most for me emotionally. But in the long run, I'd probably lean towards LSP. It just brings the most originality to the table.

I dont see Lucky as overrated, maybe we have a lot of love for it, but I dont think this track may be one track that feels boring or anything like that after playing it a lot...imo

Give Up the Ghost. All of these tracks are gerat, but GUtG to Separator is just divine. Mornign Bell to MPS was never that good of an ending, imo, and LSP to LiaGH has always been pretty good. Sulk and Lurgee aren't that bad. Jigsaw would be my second favorite. And Lucky is overrated.
