Yeah, I can't find the actual video clip, but here's the quote:

Reckoner is amazing. Chad Smith is an amazing drummer. Flea is an amazing bass player. Frusciante is an amazing guitar player. That said, collectively as a band, I still think they're awful.

When a list has only 5 selections, I very much doubt it's going to please many people. But considering it is so reductionist and focussing on the mainstream of music, I don't think it's as horrendous as some of you are saying it is.

"Good musicians" are the most overrated thing ever I mean don't get me wrong good musicianship can be a huge plus but so often it passes for actual artistic merit where there may be none

 

Yeah, sorry, I may have overlooked what you were saying, but yeah I get what you mean by this and I do agree with you.
