Radiohead Lyrics

Little By Little

Turned too nasty now
The dark cell
The pillar of my soul
The last one out of the box
The one who broke this spell

Little by little by hook or by crook
I’m such a tease
And you’re such a flirt
Once you’ve been hurt
You’ve been around enough

Little by little by hook or by crook
Never get noticed
Never get judged
I’m no idiot
I should look

Your clue on hold, snapped up
Crawling with my love
The last one out of the box
The one that broke the seal

Obligation
Complication
Routines and schedules
Drug and kill you
Kill you

Little by little by hook or by crook
Never get noticed
Never get judged
I’m no idiot
I should look

Little by little by hook or by crook
I’m such a tease
And you’re such a flirt

  • Curlett1969

Thom Yorkes lyrics never fail to amaze me.

  • Severedxheadxofxstate

    the lyrics are all wrong

  • Danielgsteck

    I think they’re mostly right

  • Chadam_913

What is this song about? I love Radiohead, but sometimes their lyrics sound so dark… but powerful

  • Jackla27

I think he says “never in earnest, never get judged”and “i don’t know where it is i should look”

  • Crobrian

    think

  • Crobrian

    right about what?

  • Crobrian

    why are they wrong?

  • cloudcuckooman

“never need an audience, never get judged”  my guess. and “once you’ve been around you’ve been around enough” instead of “once you’ve been hurt”

  • Sufficious

I think it is, “never be an artist, never get judged.”
I also hear, “I don’t know when or if I should look.”
Just what I hear. Great song.

  • Iain

    Turned too nasty now,
    The dog said

  • Heroineyebags

It’s never in earnest, never get judged. the rest seems correct.

  • Cody

It recalls, to me, a chapter from the Tao Te Ching: number 37. The last line reads, and I quote, ” Do not shine like the precious gem,
but be as dull as a common stone.” LAO TZU : TAO TE CHING. here’s the website — it’s a great read, friends… http://www.sonshi.com/laotzu39.html . Radiohead makes such great, transreligious references without ever plagiarizing. That’s what sets them apart from the falsely literate idiots like Joanna Newsom…

  • Cody

No, they’re not. There are only a few errors. Who made you the authority? lol

  • Huqinhu027

It’s whatever you make of it man… He obscures the lyrics for a reason, the same reason Loveless has obscured lyrics. It’s so listeners can make their own interpretations. A lot like a Rorschach (ink blot) test.

  • Salmup67

I think the title is a reference to Hakuri Murakami’s book, “Norwegian Wood”. The phrase, “Little by little” comes up thru out the book. It was made into a movie, and guess who did the score: Johnny Greenwood. So…

  • Bob barker

The song is about anal sex:

    Turned to nasty now
    The dark smell
    I fill her other hole
The last one was in the box
    This one poke might smell

  • Rob Maher

Nice ears! I love your first line. I have also heard in my ears:

“I dunno where it is, I should look.”

All great lines. I like interchanging them.

On the From The Basement recording, at the beginning of the song, I kinda hear:

    “Don’t turn nasty now
    The dogs of hell”

All great variations that are fun to fool around with. Playing the song and changing lyrics as we see fit is fun. I think Thom would approve of such artistic license.

Never be an artist, never get judged. Right on.
