Radiohead Lyrics

Morning Mr. Magpie

You got some nerve, coming here
You got some nerve, coming here
You stole it all, give it back
You stole it all, give it back

Good morning Mr. Magpie
How are we today?
And now you stole it, all my magic
Took my memories

(Ooohhhh)
(No no no no no no)

You know you should, but you don’t
You know you should, but you don’t

Good morning Mr. Magpie
How are we today?
And now you stole it, all the magic
Took my melody

  • Tascott

    This song is stupid.

  • donna

    As are you

  • Joejoe

I agree with Donna! Why is it that if people have a negative comment- they feel the need to share it? I love this song.

  • chloe.

tascott you are the one that is stupid
especially with a horrendous name like ‘tascott’

  • Leah

I see the connection between this song and an episode in Doctor Who, where a man called Mr.Magpie sells TV’s with a woman who steals people’s faces and memories.

  • Seanmarlow22

What episode and year thereabouts? If you can remember. I guess I could use the old computer. Thanks

  • Jack

“The Idiot’s Lantern”. To watch it, search “crossing the whoniverse” on Google.

  • Nathan

This song was played by Thom (on an acoustic guitar), on The Most Gigantic Lying Mouth Of All Time in the first episode of the DVD. So early editions of it were being worked on around 2003.

  • Zebuary

This song always reminds me of “Mr Pleasant” by The Kinks.

  • bla bla

i can see where you could be coming from with that comment. for sure.

  • Chris

This is in reference to the bird, a magpie. It’s UK superstition to say “good morning” to ward off any bad mojo when seeing one. I’m guessing that Thom was referring to this so that the magpie wouldn’t take away his ability to make music.

  • picowhi

Very uncanny connection. Well done, sir.
