Radiohead Lyrics

It’s like I’m falling out of bed
From a long, weary dream
The sweetest flowers and fruits hang from the trees
Falling off the giant bird that’s been carrying me
It’s like I’m falling out of bed
From a long and weary dream

Just exactly as I remember
Every word
Every gesture
I’m a heart in cold ground

Like I’m falling out of bed
From a long and weary dream
Finally I’m free of all the weight I’ve been carrying

And as a woman blows her cover
In the eye of the beholder
I’m a fish now out of water
Falling off a giant bird that’s been carrying me

I fell open
I laid under
At the tip out
I was just a number

I wanna slip it over
And get back under

And if you think this is over
Then you’re wrong
If you think this is over
Then you’re wrong
If you think this is over
Then you’re wrong

(Wake me up, wake me up)

If you think this is over
Then you’re wrong

(Wake me up, wake me up)

Like I’m falling out of bed
From a long, weary dream
Finally I’m free of all the weight I’ve been carrying

When I ask you again
When I ask you again
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up
Wake me up

  • Sweet Sacred Bliss

    it should be
“It’s like I’m falling out of bed
From a long and vivid dream”
    according to the universal sigh.

  • Monoart

So relevant for these times….Beautiful. Just another masterpiece…

  • Severedxheadxofxstate

i’ve my heart in my mouth

  • Severedxheadxofxstate

i’ve my heart in my mouth

“i’m a heart in my mouth?”

  • Nic

Original Title for this was “Mouse Dog Bird” when Thom would play it acoustic during solo performances.  He first played this and “Give Up The Ghost” solo in early 2010 shows.  During their debut, he played another song called “The Present Tense” dedicated to Jonny.  This caused speculation that Jonny had left the band because the chorus to the song is ‘You are Lost’.  Of course that speculation was unfounded.

Sorry, it was a 2009 show not 2010.

  • cloudcuckooman

I’m almost sure he’s saying “when at last…you give in” instead of “when i ask you again”

  • cloudcuckooman

i don’t know if it’s i’ve my heart but i would guess the second line there is “it won’t matter” instead of “in my mouth”… at least thats what i’m hearing.

I think the lyrics go as follows –

It’s like I’ve fallen out of bed from a
    long, vivid dream
The sweetest flower, fruits are hanging
    from the trees
Falling off a giant bird that’s been
    carrying me
It’s like I’ve fallen out of bed from a
    long and vivid dream

Just exactly as I remember, every
    word, every gesture
Have my heart in my mouth

Like I’ve fallen out of bed from a long,
    vivid dream
Finally I’m free of all the weight I’ve
    been carrying

And as that woman blows her cover
In the eye of the beholder
I’m a fish now, out of water

Falling off a giant bird that’s been
    carrying me

I fell open, I lay under at the tip I lost
    your number
I wanna slip over and get back under
And if you think this is over, then you’re
    wrong
If you think this is over, then you’re
    wrong

If you think this is over, then you’rewrong

  • PhillyFan

I agree with “I’ve my heart in my mouth” and “like I’ve fallen out of bed from a long and vivid dream”.
P.S. thank you greenplastic.com for providing lyrics…great service.

to me it sounds like “Well at last, you give over”
More pronounced on the From the Basement vid

Well at last, you give overWell at last, you give overWake me up, will you wake me upWake me up, will you wake me upWake me up, will you wake me upWake me up, will you wake me up

  • Guy

  • ohknowjoe

i know it sounds weird but it sounds like “when i laugh, you get naked” instead of “when i ask you again”

  • Dave

This is totally right. I figured it out separately before I read this.

“When at last… you give in…
When at last… you give in…
    Wake me up
    Wake me up”

Think about it. It’s just right.

    Love this song.
